Summer is officially here and that means beautiful summery weddings on the blog. Kicking off the best season of them all is Dana & Omer’s gorgeous Jaffa wedding which took place at the beautiful Beit Andromeda venue overlooking Tel Aviv’s coastal line and the blue Med.
Dana, who is originally from Georgia, came to Israel five years ago on a whim for the summer, fell in love with Tel Aviv and decided to stay and start a life here. Six months after making Aliya she met Omer after a mutual friend insisted on setting them up on a blind date. Omer is from Ramat Gan, he studied law at IDC and after 2 years in the business as a lawyer, he quit and Co-founded the startup AppMyDay, a super fun wedding app where wedding guests upload the pictures they take during the wedding online and the bride and groom get an immediate album of their big day. They met for the first time at Bistro 99, where Piazza now is. There was live music and he was cute and the rest is history.
After a surprise wedding proposal that took place on Dana’s birthday after she had just finished a skydive bought to her by Omer they began planning their wedding. From the start the plan was to plan something intimate, on a Friday afternoon and with amazing food. After looking for their perfect venue they found Beit Andromeda in Jaffa, a non-Kosher venue with incredible views of the Tel Aviv coast that would allow the couple to celebrate until long after Shabbat started.
Dana is a floral lover and wanted as many flowers in her wedding within budget and reason. She decided to by the flowers in bulk herself – Peonies, Roses and Delphinim and rented vases from a party supply vendor. A day before the wedding she and her Mom created the beautiful floral arrangements that awaited the wedding guests.
As guest giveaways Dana bought potted herbs, lettuce and celery that she wrapped in natural fabrics. Funny enough when they dropped everything off at the venue they put the giveaways on the tables with the arrangements (that wasn’t the plan) and it actually looked really beautiful. As guests were leaving they were welcome to take home some Nana or lettuce. Dana also made sure her guests kept cool through the wedding by giving out colorful sunglasses, fun hats and paper fans.
The result was a beautiful and fun afternoon summer wedding in one of Israel’s most beautiful locations with a gorgeous album full of picture perfect moments. Mazal Tov Dana and Omer, thanks for sharing your amazing day with us!
