Wedding producer Danny Marx has a rich history of putting together weddings at special locations, but he tells Hatunot that the desert wedding we are featuring today was extra unique, and we agree. This overnight wedding of a New York based couple took place in the biblical landscape of the Negev at the Beerotayim Eco-lodge.
The couple asked Marx to create a simple but elegant wedding that would also have a connection with their Israeli roots. Usually a pit-stop for tourists and traveling locals looking for an authentic desert experience, Marx transformed the historic desert area where Beertoayim is located into a natural wedding venue that catered to the couple’s 450 guests (200 of them from abroad!).
Because of the mid-desert location, guests were driven to the event with special shuttles from around the country. They were greeted with ambient desert music, bonfires and local tea and coffee. The Chuppa ceremony took place at sunset, and as the couple walked to the chuppa they were followed by drum players wearing white and a procession of their guests. After an authentic dinner, the dancing began and lasted late into the night. During the party small bonfires were spread out and a barbecue was held as a late-night treat. 200 guests spent the night there and woke up to the stunning views of the Negev desert in the morning. So unique!
