We love the real wedding we have today. Photographer Alexey Kurdrik and designer Beccy Blue Marmalade are regulars here on Hatunot, and never cease to surprise us with the wonderful concept weddings that they help create and document.
Our real wedding couple, Michael and Anna both live in Moscow and decided to get married in Jerusalem. Not only are these two avid book lovers, but they also met for the first time in a library so it was clear to them that their love for books (which brought them together) would be an important part of their wedding. On the wedding day, Michael and Anna went for a photography shoot at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University before arriving to Yad Hashmona in the Judean hills, where the wedding took place.
Invitations to the guests were printed in real books and were sent to guests through the mail. The guests were asked to bring these books with them to the wedding, where “librarians” greeted them and exchanged the books for their seating number. Besides the many wonderful details in this wedding (like the beautiful decor and book themed cake) our favorite detail is the groom’s handmade bowtie, created from one of his favorite books “The History of love”. The bowtie reads: “Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering..”.
