Ever since Victor (Vivi) Balaish graduated fashion design in Shankar, he acquired a reputation as a leading designer in the local arena and especially in the international arena when he participated in fashion shows and interned with Roberto Cavalli where he remained as head designer until the year 2000. During his work with the Italian designer, Vivi worked on collections in collaboration with Vogue’s legendary editor Anna Dello Russo. In 2000, Vivi left Roberto’s fashion house in order to start his own line in Milan.
After several years developing abroad, Vivi decided to follow his heart and return home, and in 2006 he had already opened his magical studio in Tel Aviv, where among other works, he designed the famous wedding dress of Melanie Peres.
Vivi’s unique style is evident in every model, which is basically one of a kind. Vivi is inspired by the glorious times of the 20’s and 30’s as well as the liberated 70’s.
The dresses are sewn in the studio using only the finest fabrics such as silk, antique lace, meticulous handwork and a combination of expensive material. Vivi’s known sewing method is cutting diagonally which not only requires a high skill, but affects his special finishing and unique style.
The atmosphere in the studio is a homely, turning the whole process into a personal and casual one.
